Hohai University Scholarships Eligibility

To apply for this government scholarship at Hohai University, Applicants must meet be:

1. Non-Chinese citizen with a valid passport;
2. Physically and mentally healthy;
3. Chinese citizens who have obtained foreign nationalities shall follow the relevant regulation of the Ministry of Education of China;

Procedure 1: Hohai University online registration (All Scholarships)

Register and submit your online application at Hohai University Online Application System for International. Please upload the required documents in the system and pay the application fee of 400RMB/$60. Please click here to see the Payment Guidance of the Application Fee.

Procedure 2: Chinese Government Scholarship Applicants Only

Register and submit your online application at https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/ and choose program Type B. Agent No. of Hohai University is 10294 (more info here). Please download and print a hard copy of the “Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship” after you complete the form. Procedure 3: Nanjing Government Scholarship Applicants Only

The applicant shall download “ the Application Form for Nanjing Government Scholarship”, complete and upload on Hohai application system (procedure 1).

Application Materials

1. Scan copy of the passport (Valid after Aug.30, 2024);
2. Scan copies of the original diploma and degree (Chinese or English version); Those to be graduated should provide proof of graduation from current school;
3. Scan copy of the original transcript with all the courses (Chinese or English version);
4. Scan copies of the China-related visa and residence permit, including all the study experiences. Upload your passport instead if there isn’t any;
5. Curriculum vitae : Consecutive study experiences since undergraduate. Full study experience is required for those who have studied in China;
6. A personal statement or study plan, including the study and work experiences, academic achievements, study plan and development targets, etc. at least 800 words;
7. English language proficiency certificate (For applicants from non-English speaking countries, TOEFL, IELTS, GRE or other proof of their English proficiency is required);
8. Two recommendation letters from associate professors or above in a related academic field (English or Chinese version);
9. Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form, filled in English or Chinese. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered invalid.
10. Financial proof (either the family deposit certificate, property certificate, or parent/guardian income certificate, over $5000 suggested);
11. Catalogue and abstract of published papers if there is any;
12. Non-criminal record;
