Created in 2003, The University of Science and Technology (UST), is a group of public universities and research institutions run as a consortium in South Korea. The university runs across 32 campuses, with the main campus in Daejon, and offers only English-taught graduate programs with specialization in science and engineering education and research.
UTS has around 500 international students, 1,300 total students. The university runs special courses that include technical business administration, technical economics, technical strategies, theories of research, planning, and management, venture start-ups, technical communication, and technical writing. Majors include nuclear fusion, polar science, functional genomics, laser and plasma engineering, intelligent robot engineering, and quantum energy chemical engineering.

University of Science and Technology Scholarship Eligibility
To apply for the UST scholarship, applicants must satisfy the criteria below:
- For Master’s degree applicants: hold an Undergraduate/Bachelor’s degree. Those who are expected to get an Undergraduate or Bachelor’s Degree by the end of February 2024 (for spring admission) or by 30th June 2024 (for fall admission) are also eligible to apply.
- For PhD applicants: : hold a Master’s degree or equivalent. Candidates who are expected to receive their Master’s degree by the end of February 2024 (for spring admission) or by 30th June 2024 (for fall admission) are also eligible to apply.

- Personal medical check (self-assessment)
- Submit statement of Proposal for Study
- Upload required documents
- Confirm application information, pay the application fee (USD 30 or KRW 35,000 via credit card), and complete the application.
About the Application form completion
- Select only one campus, major, and degree program
- Enter all information according to online guidelines and save it when properly entered
- If your family works at UST professor or staff member when you apply to UST, write his/her name and affiliation (For fairness of the admission process)
- The application or admission of those who submit false information will be revoked.
